Report on Zhonghong Heavy Machinery’s 2021 annual work plan

Recently, Professor Feng Xiating, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and president of Northeastern University, who was attending an academic conference in Qingdao, was invited by a Northeastern University alumni to take time out of his busy schedule to visit Qingdao Zhonghong Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd., a Northeastern University alumni company.

Academician Feng visited the assembly workshop of Zhonghong Heavy Machinery and conducted an investigation into the underground loaders, mining trucks and auxiliary transportation vehicles that Zhonghong Heavy Machinery is producing.

Academician Feng listened to Zhonghong Heavy Machinery’s report on product planning and development and R&D technology direction.A detailed understanding of Zhonghong Heavy Machinery’s product research and development process, product planning and development direction, technical level and market situation of the products under development in recent years was conducted.He affirmed the achievements made by the alumni of Dongda University in underground mining shovel loading equipment over the years. In terms of product standards, product operating objects and usage scenarios, the equipment must take the road of intelligence, big data, and cloud platforms to achieve unmanned operation. Guidance was given on mining application scenarios, intelligent mining equipment, echelon construction of intelligent R&D teams, school-enterprise cooperation, and tripartite cooperation with mines.

Academician Feng's visit will greatly promote Zhonghong Heavy Machinery's product research and development process and Zhonghong Heavy Machinery's corporate development.

Academician Feng Xiating, Doctor of Engineering, professor, doctoral supervisor, and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.He currently serves as deputy secretary of the Party Committee and president of Northeastern University.He once served as the president of the International Society of Rock Mechanics, director of the Wuhan Institute of Rock and Soil Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and director of the State Key Laboratory of Geomechanics and Engineering.The main academic part-time positions include: Chairman of the International Federation of Geological Engineering, Chairman of the Design Methods Committee of the International Society of Rock Mechanics, Chairman of the Chinese Society of Rock Mechanics and Engineering, and Chief Editor of 'Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering' (English version).

He has been engaged in research work in the field of rock mechanics and engineering for a long time, and has made outstanding contributions in the stability analysis theory of deep underground engineering, design calculation methods, engineering experimental technology, and rock burst monitoring, early warning and dynamic control.He has presided over more than 20 major, key and general international cooperation projects of the National 973 Project, 863 Project and the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has won 4 second prizes of the National Science and Technology Progress Award and the Outstanding Contribution Award of the International Association for Computer Methods and Advances in Geomechanics.

Qingdao Zhonghong Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd. was founded by two Northeastern University alumni who graduated in the 1980s.
